Junior Designer Application

Position: Junior Designer
Location: Remote (available during MST hours)
Hours: 20–25 hours per month
Compensation: $25–$27/hr

About the Role

Summerfield Studio is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented designer to join our small, collaborative team and support us with some extra hands as our founder heads out on maternity leave. This is a client-facing role — you'll be messaging and emailing directly with clients, so clear, professional, and timely communication is a must.

You'll work across ad creative, email marketing design, business cards, flyers, and Squarespace/Wix website updates — with the design chops to bring it all to life in Canva and the Adobe Suite. We're a small, tight-knit team that leans on Slack and Asana to stay organized, so being comfortable and responsive in both is essential.

This is a great fit for someone who wants ownership over their work, thrives managing a handful of clients at once, and takes pride in delivering ahead of deadline rather than right up against it.

Responsibilities

• Communicate directly with clients via email and Slack/messaging on day-to-day design requests and revisions

• Design ad creative, email marketing graphics, business cards, flyers, and other brand collateral

• Update and maintain client websites in Squarespace and Wix

• Manage multiple client projects simultaneously, keeping timelines and priorities straight

• Track and update progress in Asana

• Stay responsive on Slack during working hours (MST)

• Treat client relationships and projects with the same care and ownership as if they were your own

Who You Are

• A Self-Starter: You don't need heavy oversight — you take initiative and run with projects

• Timely (Ideally Early): You treat deadlines as a floor, not a target — early is your default

• Detail-Oriented: Consistency, alignment, and polish are second nature to you

• Tech-Savvy: Confident in Canva, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Slack, and Asana — with hands-on experience in both Squarespace and Wix

• Client-Ready: Comfortable and professional communicating directly with clients over email and chat

• MST-Based (or MST Hours): Available and responsive during Mountain Time working hours

• Multi-Client Minded: You can juggle several clients and projects at once without dropping the ball

• Growth-Oriented: Interested in potentially stepping into a full Brand & Web Designer role come the new year

Plus (Not Required)

• Experience designing ads at an agency or in a fast-paced marketing environment.
